Welcome to WordCamp Sylhet! We are thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, we are hosting WordCamp Sylhet on 19th & 20th May, 2023, and we invite you to be a part of it.

WordCamp Sylhet is a community-driven event that aims to bring together WordPress enthusiasts, bloggers, developers, marketers, designers and users under one roof. Our goal is to provide a platform for networking, knowledge-sharing, and learning where we can explore the vast possibilities of WordPress and beyond.

We are excited to announce that our call for speakers is now open! We invite you to share your expertise, knowledge, and experiences with our attendees. 

Session Types & Length

We offer three types of speaking opportunities for our conference:

Lightning Talks

Lightning talks are short, powerful presentations that last no longer than 10 minutes. These talks are a great opportunity to deliver a concise message, an innovative idea or a unique perspective. There is no Q&A session during lightning talks, and speakers must stick to their allotted time.

Keynote Talks

Keynote talks are longer presentations, typically lasting 25 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session. This is a great opportunity to present an in-depth analysis of a topic, share personal experiences or offer insights into the future of WordPress. Speakers must be prepared to deliver a high-quality talk that engages the audience and prompts discussion.

Panel Discussions

Panel discussions are group conversations with a team of experts on a specific topic. This is a great opportunity to bring together multiple perspectives, share knowledge and engage in a lively discussion. Panel discussions last 35 to 45 minutes, and speakers must be prepared to work with other members of the panel to deliver an informative and engaging session.

We encourage all applicants to choose the session type that best suits their topic and presentation style. Please keep in mind that we receive many applications, and the number of speaking slots is limited. Speakers must be able to present their ideas and knowledge in a clear and concise manner and must be prepared to engage with the audience during their session.

What topic should you apply with?

We are looking for a diverse selection of topics and inspirational stories from our speakers. We welcome applications from all areas related to WordPress and beyond. Our goal is to provide a platform for speakers to share their insights, knowledge, and experience on various topics related to WordPress and its ecosystem. Whether you are a seasoned expert or a beginner, we welcome speakers from all backgrounds and levels of experience.

If you’re not sure what to talk about and need some ideas, below are some talk categories you may consider but you are more than welcome to apply outside these categories:

Which language should your talk be in?

We accept applications in both Bangla and English languages. All applicants must be able to present fluently in the language they choose.

What is our application deadline and process?

The deadline for speaker applications is April 25th, 2023. Please fill out the speaker application form, and we will be in touch with you shortly.

How many talks you can submit?

Please limit your applications to only one. We understand you might have many ideas and topics to speak about but as we are expecting a big volume of applications, making it unlimited will make things worse for all of us. So please submit your best application. Give your best!

What if I submit more than one application?

We will consider the most recent one and delete all previous submissions.

Should you buy a ticket?

If you are selected as a speaker, we will be giving you a complimentary ticket to attend the event.
