The WordCamp season is here again! For WordPress enthusiasts, Contributor Day is one of the most special parts of the WordCamp experience. It’s a day to meet new people, exchange ideas, learn from different perspectives, and contribute to the open-source project that brings us all together.

WordCamp Sylhet 2026 Contributor Day will take place on October 2, 2026.

Contributor Day will kick off at the Auth Lab office the day before the main Conference Day on October 3, 2026, at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet.

Whether you’re an experienced WordPress contributor or joining Contributor Day for the first time, you’re welcome to take part, learn something new, collaborate with the community, and help make WordPress better.

WordPress Contributor Day

Contributor Day is a day when WordPress enthusiasts come together to contribute to the open-source WordPress project.

If this is your first WordCamp Contributor Day experience, don’t worry! You don’t need to be an experienced contributor to participate.

Contributor Day is designed to be welcoming to everyone. You can meet different WordPress teams, learn how they work, observe experienced contributors, ask questions, and start contributing at your own pace. Together, even small contributions can make a meaningful difference to WordPress.

Do I need to be a coder or programmer to attend Contributor Day?

No! WordPress contributions come from people with many different skills and backgrounds. Developers, designers, writers, translators, marketers, photographers, community organizers, support professionals, testers, and many others can all contribute to WordPress.

Contributor Day is a great opportunity to learn more about WordPress, build your network, collaborate with community members, improve your skills, and, most importantly, have a great time with the WordPress community.

WordPress is built by contributors from around the world, and everyone is encouraged to come forward, participate, and create value for the community—even if it’s their very first contribution.

What to expect

Expect a welcoming, collaborative, and hands-on day. Contributor Day will bring together people with different levels of WordPress experience—from long-time contributors and professionals to complete beginners.

Experienced contributors and table leads will help participants understand how their teams work, how to get started, and what tasks they can contribute to.

You’ll have the opportunity to choose a team based on your interests and skills, work alongside other contributors, ask questions, learn, and make your own contribution to WordPress. You don’t need to know everything before arriving. Contributor Day is about learning together, helping each other, and contributing as a community.
